Should I use a template or make my own ?

Making your own template can bring the best long term results.  The search engines recognize your unique page and clearly reward you for it. Copycat pages and sites are much lower ranked than unique material. This goes for text , Design, Photos and images and movies. The search engines are very smart and will catch it all in seconds. Make your site completely unique and you will have leaps and bounds success  in comparison to all your copycat competitors. Use templates if need but in this authors opinion you should edit or personalize it all that is possible if your going to do so.  This page was not built with any use of templates. It is pretty basic in every regard. However it is search engine candy as it is completely readable. Unlike javascript. Its all text which can be read. Unlike words on photos which are unreadable to search engines and cannot be used to identify your sites content. Basic and clean and remember to keep it light and fast loading. These flash sites are paying a huge price on there conversion ratios as dial up customers are clicking away.
