What is a website template or a layout ?

Website templates and website layouts can seem confusing. But they shouldn't be. Templates and Layouts are prefabricated web designs that make getting your site going a little easier. The page is already made you just need to add your own text and links to the page to create your final product of your web page.  When making the decision as to whether or not to use a template you should compare a clean template that you like and compare it with your own web design creation and analyze it with an open mind.  Is your creation better for business than the template is ?  If so use your creation. But if it is not then a template is best for you.  This comparison can be ongoing until your web design skills are better for you than someone others templates.  The downside to templates is that many people have them and many people use them. The same template you may build your site with is the same template that someone else used to make there site as well.  Meaning yes you both have extremely similar looking web sites.
